About the Trip
This was my second trip with Regina Caeli Academy. I really enjoyed the last trip with them and was very excited to be traveling with the school again. Six people from last year’s group joined us again, and four people were family members of those who traveled last year. It’s such a great feeling to have a return ‘customer’. I’m not selling pizza, these are expensive pilgrimages, and to have someone return to me for multiple trips, well it really means a lot. On all but one of my trips, I’ve had someone traveling with me who had traveled with me before. The only exception was my first trip, as it was the first, obviously no one could have traveled with me before. But, this time ten people had traveled with me or were family members of previous pilgrims. That’s half the group!
What’s so great about the Regina Caeli trips is that they are educational. Of course my goal is to teach on all my trips, but these are actually students who are studying what we are doing. They carry around workbooks taking notes and asking questions. In the evenings, we have class. I’m actually going to try to incorporate some of this travel style into my next trip. Most people are probably not going to want to have ‘class’, but there’s always discussion at the end of the day. What I’m going to try out on my next trip is a workbook similar to what we used with Regina Caeli. I think it will really help the people to better understand what they are seeing and they can even read ahead to see what the next day will bring. I’m very excited about this!
