L’Isola della Pizza

Adele and Vito run the place along with their kids, Renzo e Laura. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. They all know me as Montagna, so tell them I sent you. I’m here all the time, so maybe I’ll see you.

The name means Pizza Island, but this place has a great menu with way more than pizza.

I think I’ve had just about everything on the menu, and I love it all. If you are in the mood for steak, this place has the best steak I’ve had in Rome. My favorite is the tagliata di manzo, which is thinly sliced sirloin served on a hot stone plate so you can cook to your liking.

They have a seasonal menu too, so check out what’s in season.

Also be sure to order the house white wine. It comes from a tap and has a little sparkle to it. It’s fun.

Don’t forget desert, always on display when you walk in.

If you like celebrities, this is the place to be. Nearly every night some Italian celebrity shows up, some Americans too.

This place is packed every day with Italians. There’s sometimes a one hour wait. So either arrive right when they open, or make a reservation.

When you go, be sure to tell Adele hello.
