Is this pilgrimage for you?
You need to be flexible.
This pilgrimage is not for grumpy people or those unable to be joyfully flexible. We travel through three different regions over eleven days, so plans can shift with traffic, weather, or opening hours.
If you are easy-going and excited to travel, even with some uncertainties mixed in, this could be the trip for you!
If this pilgrimage doesn’t work for you, no worries, I’ve been doing this for over 20 years and plan to do many, many more.
You should be in good physical shape.
We will do a lot of walking, much of it outside, and much of it on uneven ground, including Ronda’s old bridges and the grounds of the Alhambra. We can walk several miles per day. Please do consider this before signing up.
You need to be able to carry your own luggage.
You are responsible for your luggage. We do not have porters, and with three hotels across eleven days, you’ll be repacking more than once. I will provide a thorough packing list to help you pack lightly and efficiently.
Itinerary
We have 4 nights in Seville, 2 nights in Granada, and 4 nights in Marbella on the Costa del Sol.
Along the way we’ll visit the Alhambra, the Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba, the Shrine of Our Lady of Europe in Gibraltar, and the Carmelite convent in Ronda that houses the incorrupt hand of Saint Teresa of Ávila — with Mass celebrated at several of these stops along the way.

As always, we have some special surprises planned along the way.
Prices are per person, based on two people sharing a room.
Your $1,000 deposit secures your space. Final payment is due October 12th, 2026. Final payment is nonrefundable.
Traveling alone?
I match singles with other traveling singles (of the same sex) and that always works out great. A single room is an additional $2,000. Single rooms are extremely limited, so it’s first come, first served. If I don’t have another single to match you with, you are responsible for paying the single supplement.

Tips
All tips for group meals, guides, drivers, and hotel staff. Would you believe that many tour companies require you to tip as you go? Not only does that add to the advertised sticker price of a tour, it’s also a huge hassle to you! No need to worry about that here. Tips are already included.
Entry fees and tours
All entry fees and tours to our included group activities, including the Alcázar, Seville Cathedral, the Alhambra, the Córdoba Mosque-Cathedral, and St. Michael’s Cave in Gibraltar.
Social planning
Plan your trip with your traveling companions before you leave! I’ll set up a private WhatsApp group for our pilgrimages to give you a chance to meet before you meet.
You time
We have a lot planned, but time on your own is important. We take our time in churches to give you the opportunity for prayer and reflection. I also include free time for you to explore, shop, and relax on your own.
Arrival & Departure
Airfare and airport transfers are not included. Please arrange your travel according to the arrival and departure details below.
You should be in Seville by November 9th, in time for the welcome dinner. The easiest option is to fly directly into Seville Airport (SVQ). Another very good option is to fly into Madrid (MAD) and take the high-speed AVE train to Sevilla Santa Justa station in the center of the city, which takes roughly 2½ to 3 hours. Give yourself plenty of time after your international arrival, and don’t book a tight train connection.
If you’d like to arrive a day early to get over jet lag and enjoy Seville before the pilgrimage begins, let me know.
November 19th is the earliest you can depart, so don’t book your flight home any earlier. You’re responsible for getting yourself to Málaga Airport (AGP). If you want to stay longer, contact the Marbella Club directly and let them know you are with The Catholic Traveler. This will ensure that you don’t have to switch rooms once the pilgrimage ends.
No Hassle Cancellations
No other tour or pilgrimage company offers this level of free cancellation coverage.
- If you need to cancel for any reason before October 12th, 2026, you will receive a full refund.
- After that, I’ll do all I can to get you back as much as I can, but I will have made payments to the vendors, and they are not required to give me refunds. This is why it is very important to have trip insurance.
- If for any reason I need to cancel or postpone the trip, you’ll receive 100% back.
- In all cases, you are responsible for working with the airline to get credit or refunds for changed or cancelled flights.
Trip Insurance
Trip insurance is a wise investment in case something comes up while you are in Spain. You can now add travel insurance simply and directly from the booking portal when you book, and you’re always welcome to shop around and choose whatever coverage works best for you.
