The Feast of Saint Padre Pio in Rome

The church of San Salvatore in Lauro contains the relics of Saint Padre Pio – and Saint John Paul II and the arm of Saint Jude.

The church celebrates the Feast of Saint Padre Pio for a full week, often with Bishops. Here is the full schedule for 2017.

18 September
6 PM – Mass with Monsignor Guerino di Tora, Chaplain to the Holy Father since 1995.

20 September – The Feast of the Stigmata of Padre Pio
11 AM – Exposition of the reliquary containing the blood of the saint.

6 PM – Mass with Monsignor Guido Marini, the Master of Ceremonies for Pope Francis.

22 September – Vigil of the Death
6 PM – Mass with Monsignor Rino Fisichella, head of the Congregation for New Evangelization.

7 PM – Prayer Vigil

9 PM – Mass with Monsignor Carmelo Pellegrino from the Congregation for the Causes of Saints

23 September – The Feast Day
Mass at 10 AM, 12:15 PM, 8:15 PM

12 PM – Supplication of Padre Pio

4:30 PM – Procession from Piazza Navona with Benediction

6 PM – Mass with Bishop Gianrico Ruzza, Auxiliary Bishop of Rome.

24 September
6 PM – Mass in the Piazza with Archbishop Angelo de Donatis, the Vicar General of Rome.
